I wanted to comment on this, but decided instead of a comment on a post, I might as well put it here.

Hell yes.

Because you see, there are so many factors that people don't think about. What if one party is already unavailable? Taken, hitched, etc. Not single lar. And no matter what anyone says, I thinkfeelsay that it is possible to like more than one person at the same time. Perhaps in slightly different ways and different quantities (meaning you like one more than the other). But you can't reject someone by eliminating them just because you like the other one better, because it doesn't eliminate the fact that you still like two people! Which is my point la. Plus, it's kinda not fair. Want to reject, come up with a better excuse.

Okay, then what if they're both available, single and ready to mingle?

Also possible.

Emotional baggage, trust issues, compatibility issues, take your pick. Maybe one likes the other just 'okay okay only lar' and the other is head over heels. Maybe one likes the other so much enough to let the other go because he/she knows they would NEVER work out. Maybe one's been burned, jilted, cheated on. Got la, like all those Bold and Beautiful dramas.

If there's a will, I think it's easier to come up with a million reasons as to why two people would not get together despite mutual feelings than to come up with one hundred reason as to why they will get together.

And it also raises some issues to ponder over when you're in the mood.

What does it all mean?

I had a NEW nightmare yesterday.

I'm eating chocolate ice cream by the tub; the type in the blue Walls' container. I'm scooping it into the ceramic mug and slurping it from there. The ice cream starts greying and melting into a cement-like sludge. I don't know why the heck I continue to eat it.

Then as the level of the sludge goes down, it exposes a layer of water. As though it were a mixture of oil and water, the water and some remains of the sludge separate as different particles. I try to scoop the sludge, but the water seems too...well, watery, and the motion from my spoon just causes it to drift away.

Or does it?

There is one moderate size bit of sludge that seems to be moving oddly, almost as if on its own accord. I try to focus and look at it, but it just seems spotty and turn away. After a while I turn back, and the sludge seems different. Bigger, even.

There are things floating in the water now. Things seems to be forming, but I turn away before anything comes into focus.

There are fish.

The sludge doesn't look like a fish; it's grey and spotted, has no fins and no head, but it certainly moves like one. I don't like it. It's ugly.

I look away again. This is starting to be like the horror bathtub scene in The Omen. Scene after scene after scene. No stop, no link, all weird. I turn back just in time to see the sludge eat some other tiny little fish. These fish look like proper guppy teensy fish. At least I think the Sludge is eating them. It sort of forms this black hole and the little fish swim into it, and the hole dissapears. Sort of like Insaniquarium.

The Sludge is definitely growing bigger. Fuck. Not. Good. I really really don't like it. There's a huge bothersome feeling of unease and fear. Scratch that, terror.

I turn away to try to find somebody, run away, anything. But I don't. I turn back and the Sludge has turned into a White Arowana. Don't ask me how I know it's an Arowana even in my sleep. It looks like one.

I do not like the White Arowana either. It's got eyes and the whole deal, I can even distinguish its scales. But for some reason, the Arowana staring at me freaks me out even more than Sludge swallowing little fish into oblivion.

I have no idea why Nimi is suddenly in my dream. At least I think it's Nimi. She's got huge eyes. Okay, maybe she's not Nimi, I'll just call her Mimi.

Mimi is wearing a wig. She's bald. She's qutie pretty bald, by the way.

We're in a shopping mall that looks suspiciously like the center of Bangsar Shopping Mall. But there's suddenly a lot of shops that sell wigs. Oh and necklaces made with oyster shells, but I think that's just me.

I think we pick a wig or something. I have no idea. Because we're suddenly at some railroad track. Or something. It's an open space. I don't know, are YOUR dreams bursting with clarity?

I don't know who I'm with, but I'm guessing it's people I'm familiar with. I don't feel particularly awkward. Then we have to go somewhere, like a factory, farm or IKEA. And the convenient way to get there is by taking this little train thing. It looks like the kiddy motor you go on at Mines Wonderland that travels at like, 1 km per hour.

And then we're picking up speed like nobody's business, and the train ride turns into one of my worst possible nightmares. It's a full fledged roller coaster ride. For real.

I'm screaming my head off, we're turning up, down, 360 degrees, I'm experiencing the worst real terror I've ever felt, there's not one bit of exhiliration, because I have no shit clue about what's going on and ITSNOTSTOPPINGWHYISITNOTSTOPPING????!!!!!!

Then we slow down, and I quickly get off.

And I'm as upset as anything because I'm missing a shoe. I don't know why the hell I'm so upset, because er, it's a SHOE. Maybe because they're my Pink adis. But I go frantically around looking for my shoe, through the tracks, and behind the train there are boxes of missing shoes. They are all Crocs. I particularly remember Pink crocs.

And it ends.

A lot of things freak me out.

Ugly things. Dead things. White Arowana. Maybe even wigs. But for once I've freaked myself out, because I can actually remember these two dreams like I experienced them.

And the freakiest - I really was terrified during the roller coaster. I woke up in a cold sweat.

I don't usually have any dreams at all. Why AROWANA, why CHOCOLATE, WHY MIMI? Why yesterday? Actually I can venture a guess at that, yesterday was the only day in the past few weeks that I've slept without the air-cond, because I was feeling feverish in the afternoon.

I am so. sleeping with the air cond on tonight. Nightmares during the night lead to bad decisions during the day.

Results

...are coming out tomorrow. Granted, the first tip off wasn't accurate at all, considering it came from a lecturer, but this time, the programme director is a more credible source.

I'm quite worried, but at the same time chill. It's like SPM. I didn't get jitters until I stepped inside the hall. Maybe it's not hit me yet.

IMMW - was. so. Painful. Damn Energizer Bunny. I pray pray pray I get a B-.. But then again, my assignments were terrible. So maybe a C+ is more rational.

ICG - DAMN WEI. One subject where I should score an A+. The finals were THAT good. But I did a bit of counting on my own, and to get a 75 mark overall, i'd have to score perfectly for finals. So.. yeah. I tembaked the subjective part in the theory part. I'll always hate terms and technicalities. My A just got downgraded to B+, maybe A-. Who knows, maybe they mark on a curve.

CTR - Oh my. No words needed. This course has like, a 70% failure rate. My first CTR lecture had the seniors from previous semesters retaking the subject; plus that together with my intake, and we had about 90+ students. I kinda regret not going for PASS classes. I just want to pass :(

ICC - Yeah man! Don't we all love her!! I'm expecting an A! Any A la, I can't remember too much about the exam, except the mamak studying session :D Cheers, Genevieve.

MKT - Not too bad. I studied, some stuff came out, a lot of stuff didn't come out, but enough to cover my bases. I can't remember much about the actual paper. Again, I remember the last 2 minutes before we left the Media Hub to go to the hall, when I was coaching Tun on the push and pull strategies; again, using my weird ass methods of explaining and memorising. But Karma was good, cause it actually came out :D High five, man. Here's to a B.

ICC - A - Yeah maaaaan! I've never had a 4 before. :D

ICG - B - slight dissapointment here, feel my final was deserving of at least a B+, but considering that my mid term Illustrator was quite the disaster, I suppose it's fair.

CTR - B- - The moment of TRUTH! So far most of my peeps have passed CTR, so it's a huge relief for us; for those who didn't, cheer up la, okay? :D The shocker was finding out Eddie scored a freaking A for this. Now we all know Eddie is secretly some brainiac. No more sympathetic notes for him anymore.

IMMW - B- - "Pigs will fly when the bunny stops playing". Dear GOD! This was expected la.

MKT - B+ - I suppose the plus makes up for my ICG, this was quite better than I was expecting

I was having my usual nightly chat with KarBear when a snippet of our conversation reminded me of one time of desperation back in form 5.

It was the Forensics held at ISKL, and I was competing in the Original Oratory category. It was the first day and after two rounds of preliminaries, the competitors and their supporters were milling around in the canteen (Connie's Corner, I still remember) waiting for the list of finalists to be released.

After the first two rounds were done for the day, I was beyond relieved. I didn't have to worry about the utter lameness and high word count of my speech, and could fully utilise energy to cuci mata.

Now, before this time, I had gone to kepoh at the debates; specifically the ones which involved our teams (yay Kar and Laura!) and the Host teams. The Host teams were the hot favourites to win, since they were defending champions from the year before, so naturally a lot of the other schools were watching them as well. The room was quite packed, if I remember correctly.

I had heard some gossip about this guy from a certain missionary school, let's call him Joe. Now Joe APPARENTLY had a crush on our very own KarBear. KarBear didn't like him. much. okay, at all. I think la. I dunno now. :D

Anyway! not important! The point is. Joe. is. a.

NERD

I'm not dissing nerds la, I am one after all, but. Joe..oh, Joe was in a league of his own.

Plus, he was annoying. You can ask his schoolmates.

So back! We're in Connie's corner. It's already around late afternoon, and I'm sitting at one of the wooden tables talking with Lavi, I think. This REALLY REALLY CUTE guy is introduced to us, and he sits down with us to eat his RM5 Korean Instant Noodle. (OMG, of all details to remember; why didn't I remember his name) He's cute, friendly, smart, funny. I'm smitten.

Then Joe joins us. Joe is his schoolmate, and at this time all I know about Joe is

1. He's sweet on KarBear
2. His schoolmates don't exactly love him.
3. He's a pretty formidable speaker
4. He has a reputation for being a nerd

And Joe starts to talk.

and I start to die bit by bit. He was talking rubbish and he wasn't pleasant AT ALL. He was bringing up weird random subjects that I absolutely did not understand. I cannot explain the anguish I was going through. I wanted desperately to leave (I just found out CuteNoodleGuy was in Form 3), yet it would be terribly rude and blatant to just up and leave. I couldn't even make up any excuse because the incessant talking kept derailing my train of thought. It was now that I began to understand why the boys were bitching about him.

Let me put it this way. After one more paticularly excruciating lame joke, Lavi made her escape. Mild mannered Lavi. Lavi who has never gotten angry at anyone except her small sister. Lavi who has never raised her voice at anybody in school. Lavi who couldn't take Joe's verbal war anymore. ABANDONED ME! I don't know how she did it. I was still quite reluctant to leave at first because of CuteNoodleGuy who albeit being younger, was incredibly witty, but was busy eating, so less talking.

Finally I couldn't take it anymore. I scanned the canteen for an escape. KarBear and her gang, which included the boys from The Missionary School caught my eye. They're talking and laughing. ESCAPE HATCH!

She makes eye contact with me. I raise my hand to my mouth and turn slightly sideways, and with my hand blocking the side of my mouth and a slighly maniacal desperate look,

The little smartass laughs. Yeah yeah laugh at my misery. I see some of the boys looking over and they start snickering.

But then she's my favourite bear for a reason.

"Yuen, come over here!"

I make my excuse, and hightail it over to their section.

Photoshop Tip - Fade

I love online tutorials. They make Photoshop fun and easy. They make ICG class fun. nyehehe.

HOW TO USE PHOTOSHOP TO FADE THE PIC

1. Open your photo in Photoshop. If you want to crop it, circle it, whatever, do it, as long as you have a fresh cut of your photo.

2. Select Gradient. Make sure your options include selecting Radial Gradient, the teeny little icon with the circle on the top left corner of your window. Select foreground to transparent in the drop down options for editing the gradient.

3. Press 'Q'. This is a short cut to enter quick mask. Then click a point in middle of the area of the place you want to fade. Don't lift up, and continue to drag it; forming a line. So basically you will draw a line; the length of the line will be the radius of the red mask circle you draw.

4. Press 'Q' again. You'll get a smaller circle selection. Don't worry about that. Now press 'delete'. Now press CTRL + D, which is a shortcut for deselecting. TADAAAA

5. If you want a clearer radius, do the red circle over several times. The more mask layers you draw, the clearer it stays.

6. Post a comment on this post telling me what a genius I am, and how nice I am, how much you all miss me, etc. You know the drill :D

Photos and plants

Camerons presented pretty nice if slightly boring photography opportunities. All I did was take macro shots of flowers because there wasn't much else, other than the temple. I would have taken a couple of shots of the hills as we were going down, but my ears were being too much of a pain from all the pressure.

And these are my newly acquired plants :D

First up, the cacti. They're not all mine; half of them will belong to 6 lucky college friends. If, you know, there are still 6 left... The ones in the frame are mine, and the ones in the tray are for the sayangs. I'm refraining from naming them to avoid creating an emotional bond.

And the white pink rose plant! Some of the buds have already fallen off, but I'm hoping it'll at least last to see the new year.

One of the final stops was a small plant nursery, where I picked up a plant which has flowers with heart-shaped petals. And it was only 4 Ringgit. It's so purty. Another plant I got was a baby pine tree. I have big plans for it for Christmas! okay, maybe not big huge big, but I can hang teeny little things on its teeny little branches and it'll be so CUTE!

The Camerons Trip

A couple of days ago, the family and a couple of aunts and their families plus my grandma took a trip up to the Cameron Highlands. The trip up the hills was horrid because I was sleepy from waking up at 6 a.m. and my mom was grumbling again that I fall asleep whenever I step into the car. For crying out loud, what's there to see?! If you've seen one orang asli hut, you've seen 'em all. And they're not all that ulu, some of them had astro dishes.

With two little tykes in the car, toilet stops were pretty frequent. One of the first stops where the weather was nice and chilly was in Cameron Valley, a tea plantation cafe. I didn't dare go to the washroom there because it was located at the bottom of a very very very steep flight of stairs. So I just took pictures.

The place had a smell about it. Daddy said it was the tea leaves. I said it just smelled like car freshner.

When we reached there, I followed my aunt to the check-in counter. I turn to the left side of the lobby, and lo and behold....

There were four hotel rooms for the whole entourage, and I wasn't exactly jumping for joy when I saw the view. My vertigo kicked in full steam.

After settling down, we went sightseeing at Cameron's countless farms. I was particularly excited to see flower farms cause...well, they were pretty. And some were wicked.

I wanted to bug daddy about buying some flytraps or venus plants, but he caught my look and quickly walked away before I could open my mouth.

I never expected Cameron's to be good for its.. um.. hunting ground potential. I thought I'd just buy plants, enjoy the cold, and sleep in the car a lot. Who knew Cameron Highlands was a place to cuci mata?

No photos la! I'm not THAT stalkerish.. But there was that trio who were milling around when the aunts were buying corn by the load, and one smiled at me. He was wearing a hoodie, y'all. I like.

And when we were at Kea farm, loads of buses were unloading their foreign cargo, and there were more hoodie/jacket wearing boys. And when we were at Tanah Rata eating steam boat, good lord, there were a lot of chap tourists walking around. They were damn friendly, can. ;D

Anyway!

The hotel lobby has a fireplace. Like.. with logs that burn. Yeah, I know, I am damn jakun.

Basically 80% of the whole trip was spent in the car driving from farm to farm; flowers, strawberries, vegetables, bees, whatever. On the second day, we finally went to a different attraction, but probably no less boring. A temple. *sigh*

Camerons wasn't too bad. I bought several plants, which I hope will survive the holidays, and I took lots of flowery pictures. yay!
