Romance makes me cry

ReaganBoy is no longer single girls, sorry. :D I was so happy for him when he told me yesterday that he got back together with his ex, and it was so sweeeeeeeet and romantic! *sniff*

i don't know how clear the screen shot is, but it is evidence enough of a man in love. hehheheheh.. omg, don't kill me reagan. :D snickers..snickers..

Anyway, hols have been pretty stagnant so far. I caught da vinci code with Reganboy, Thomas, Chutney, and Dan, Evie, and Vitri, who are Chutney's friends. After that, i had early curfew, so i had to ciao earlier than i wanted to, leaving them all at burger king. It's amazing how dead MV can get at night. Kind of creepy actually..*shudder*

Life is pretty good nowadays. I wake up in time for lunch. I play games. One game actually. I watch tv. I chat with friends. I eat. Ohhh yeah i eat.

ahhhh life. it could only get worse. i'm waiting. i'm expecting. but i'm hardly hoping.

shopping list

na bei (yes yes, i like that phrase a lot, i dunno why.), i lost my scrap of paper which i write down all the stuff i want to buy. so i will make an electronic list!

white belt - my old one's buckle broke :(
wristband - the sports or leather ones. i dunno why i damn gatal want to buy. poyoh, but i still want!
cap - i would like one that is not affiliated with football clubs. everytime i wear, it pisses somebody off. tiu...
skirts - more skirts more short skirtsyayyyyyy
handbag - preferably a bigger one than the ones i've already got.
shoes - i want to get a pair of heels that scream f*** me! and wedges. and converse sneakers. and heels with ankle wraparounds
purse - hankering for a new, less childish looking fold out purse
handphone pouch - mine gets dirty damn fast..
birthday presents for pui yan, jay, chandni, and krys... my purse will be empty before i can buy a new one siao.
more chunky bracelets and necklaces - CHANDNI bring some back from Indo for me dear.

good feelings

Man, i feel good. My room is the optimum environment for blogging. Curtains closed, dim lighting, air cond on, and how to save a life as my bee in my bonnet, me fresh from a bath... plus, two whole months of holidays soon, with a great selection of movies that must be seen, and many future shopping trips.ahhhhhhhhh.. if i could bottle this feeling up right now, i would make a gajillion dollars.
Anyway, yes, two whole months of holidays! The administration just announced it today. A bit sad la two whole months, i could barely take a month of holiday after SPM before i got bored, but this time around, it shouldn't be as stagnant. muchas stuff to do
1. learn driving. hopefully soon and hopefully i get to rot through the lecture with somebody. (oi remember tau!)
2. watch x-men
3. watch da vinci
4. watch superman (maybe can persuade daddy to take us go..)
5. go to singapore
6. bring chandni to sunway lagoon
7. go out with KAF
8. chandni's bday
9. jay's bday
10. krys' bday (yes frayfan, her bday)
a pity about the movies though, because i don't watch movies alone, and friends are all in subang, or in school. na bei. i should seriously consider moving to the apartments near college. never mind..soon.. the roads of KL and Subang will have a demon. a demon that will be driving a pink myvi..one that will rise above all..it's only a matter of time..soon..
but until then, i think i will damn miss my friends la. i'll be stuck at home watching astro, growing fatter and fatter, while they are all in subang partying and mamak-ing away. why la i have to live so far. stupid lala OUG. *sulk*

Hate.

hate is a special kind of love we give to people who suck.

*moan*

Okay, i originally intended to blog about the day after Grace's birthday, aka the beach party orientation, but now that i'm actually here, i have no more enery to patiently upload the photos. So that's for another day. why am i so lethargic? ahhhhh the eternal mystery. Could it be exams? or perhaps the timing. or surprise, surprise, the fact that i sound like a frog and stalled motor and continually have a piece of tissue attached to my nose? bugger..

Being sick with a flu or cough usually doesnt really bother me that much, because i am still able to do important things like take exams, go to school, play pool, etc.. But having the hacking cough is a bit the worrying la! I had a hacking cough like.. what, two years ago? It was the type of cough where you could hear the phlegm lodged in the throat and basically you sounded like a freaking stalled engine. Coughs are like psshhh, whatever la, just let that tickle in the throat run its course.

Except at that time, it didn't run a course. It ran a month-long marathon. I couldn't sleep lying down (because tak bleh breathe), so i had 3 pillows piled up under my head, and i would end up waking up with a sore back. I also found myself waking up in the middle of the night, running to the bathroom to cough up the chunkload of stuff that lodged itself in my throat, and struggling to breathe because i was heaving up, and quite literally couldn't come up for air. Mom freaked out a bit because she was worried that i was getting asthma. After 3 modern medicine docs, my parents had to take the day off to take me downtown to see the Chinese tabib. She made me drink that horrid black stuff AGAIN. i swear, it was the same medicine that she gave me back in form 3.. And mind you, that was for all the vomiting.. vomiting..coughing.. very different sicknesses you know..

yes yes, but hopefully this time, with strepsils, woods, watermelon frost lozenges, pei pa ko, lots and lots of tissue, water and sufficient rest after the exams, i'll be able to avoid going through that again. no more black bitter puke inducing stuff...eeewww

One U roxxorz

It is so nice to have your own laptop la. It allows you to blog in the privacy of your own room (which i am doing now), allows you to keep naughty photos in private, and you can download whatever you want. yay for hugh! Anyway, I really should be studying MHL right now.. really should, but. bah. everytime i scold my lazy whiny alter ego to go study, it retaliates by reminding " eeee.. no, later la.. " then i end up procrastinating.
After lots of drama, sms-es and pissing off factors, the plan to celebrate Grace's birthday was finally back on track. The whole lot of us made it to One U on Thursday in two batches ; Me getting screwed in the car with ReaganBoy, Chutney, and Uncle Thomas because i realized that i forgot to sms DurianHead that the plan was back on, but at least he still made it last minute. We had lunch at Secret Recipe (their cordon bleu isn't great there. Pyramid's is better) and ate the cappucino cheese birthday cake. And camwhored. naturally.
The whole gang
the royal cheesecake

the princess + other foreign dignitaries + one kacau jester
Seriously, foreign dignitaries because Chutney is Indo, Lindy is part Thai, and I'm.. well... I pass for IndoChinese, boleh.
the princess and the manservants + court jesters
After a lot of shopping, i bought Kitty sunglasses (man, i felt like a sugarmama) and myself NEW FREAKING SUNNIES THAT I'VE WANTED FOR AGES and pigged out on Baskin Robbins.
Ohhhh Yeah baby.. Double scoop of Vanilla and Macadamia Butter. Lick It.
At that time, One U was having some promotion where you spend RM 100 at any of the shops in the new wing, and you get some free dip prizes and shizz. What they didn't know was we requested seperate cheques at Secret Recipe. The WHOLE receipt added up to slightly less than 200 bucks, but since we still had seperate receipts plus the original-everything-added-up receipt, Princess, Lindy and I got more free stuff than we should. The boys (Kitty and Tun) took the FCUK car stickers. I suspect it's because of the two almost naked women in close proximity on the car sticker.
Later on Tun dropped me back off at Pyramid where i waited for ReaganBoy and Jafaar to finish Mi3. Their movie took longer than i thought, so while waiting, I went to Watsons ( to check out Maybelline prices), Fantasy ( to look for FrayFan's cd ), SASA ( to look for nail stuff for FrayFan's horrigible nail biting habit ), Watson again (to check out prices for Tun's nicotine patches ). I barely spent 15 minutes doing that. See, i'm such an efficient shopper... Anyway, it still left me with a lot of time, so I just sat outside A&W so that people coming out of the cinema could see me. Although I was bored out of my mind (the free magazine One U provided bored the shizz out of me.), it was tons better than being usiked by men with afro hairdos. Lesson learnt - men with afro hairdos who shop in Pyramid have no taste. Jangan la kacau girls who don't bother to even paling kepala. And you want to look at cleavage also, take a tip from Seinfeld - it's like the sun. you glance, then you look away. you don't STARE at it! poke your eyes out baru tau.
ReaganBoy then sent Jafaar and me home. It was raining pretty heavily, and I Heart rain more and more these days.
ReaganBoy on the road
As soon as i got home, i think i passed out on the bed. I was that tired. gahhhh

Counting my blessings

There are times in life when things in life are rudely put in perspective. In this case it happened indirectly. When someone you know gets put on the brink of mortality, it kind of shocks your world and makes everything stop for a while. Kind of like the Matrix special effects with the bullets. And when everything starts running again, you feel damn scared and worried and most of all suddenly small. Insignificant small. because nothing you own suddenly seems important anymore, and anything you have, you are immensely grateful for.

Not to say that i am not grateful for the things I have. I will be the first to admit that I am quite spoilt when it comes to material things. I don't always get the things I want, but I am realistic enough to know that not everybody has what I have. God, that sounds so conceited. But sometimes I am not grateful enough. So I will do this once. because habits are hard to change. but we must start somewhere yeah?

I am grateful for

1. all my limbs and the fact that i can read and write.
2. all my dear dear friends, from new college friends to old kindergarten friends whom i never kept in touch with and whose names i still dont know.
3. baby # 1 - the organizer. my daddy's gift to me for becoming a BOD in an attempt to get me organized.
4. baby # 2 - suxi, the camera. mommy's gift. simply because i pestered her to upgrade plus all my salesperson speak.
5. baby #3 - my zen. initially not planned. i just wanted a chapalang MP3 player that could store my school files. so my mom said just buy nice one for songs and thumbdrive. uh..OKAY!
6. baby #4 - hugh, my one true love. i give him a good night kiss every night.
7. my family and the fact that we are emotionally repressed. we are quite screwed up, and i like it that way.
8. the fact that so many people care enough about me to talk to me online and organize great parties and remember to invite me.
9. the fact that daddy has a warped sense of humour. he's spoilt so many guys for me because they all don't have that geeky sense of humour i'm used to.
10. the ugly duckling stage i (and presumably everybody) went through because i never have to go that low ever again.
11. Interact. that turning point in school which made me into the person i am today, with the many friends i have
12. long eyelashes, sparse though they may be
13. straight teeth.
14. a nice house
15. Luke
16. a pretty happy disposition
17. the freedom to do what i want, go where i want, say what i want to whom i want, wearing the clothes i want.
18. the rationality to stop myself from doing the things that i want, going where i want , saying what i want to the people i want. i still wear whatever i want.
19. i forgot another baby - my nokia 6111 :D
20. a sister who buys me nice stuff and to go shopping with
21. not being 100% lala
22. education
23. having enough money to spend
24. friends who love me
25. being a bookworm

Hell explained

From a blog:HELL EXPLAINED BY CHEMISTRY STUDENT
*The following is an actual question given on a University of Washington chemistry mid-term*

Bonus Question: Is Hell exothermic (gives off heat) or endothermic (absorbs heat)?
*Most of the students wrote proofs of their beliefs using Boyle's Law (gas cools when it expands and heats when it is compressed) or some variant.*

One student, however, wrote the following: First, we need to know how the mass of Hell is changing in time. So we need to know the rate at which souls are moving into Hell and the rate at which they are leaving. I think that we can safely assume that once a soul gets to Hell, it will not leave. Therefore, no souls are leaving.

As for how many souls are entering Hell, let's look at the different religions that exist in the world today. Most of these religions state that if you are not a member of their religion, you will go to Hell. Since there is more than one of these religions and since people do not belong to more than one religion, we can project that all souls go to Hell. With birth and death rates as they are, we can expect the number of souls in Hell to increase exponentially.

Now, we look at the rate of change of the volume in Hell because Boyle's Law states that in order for the temperature and pressure in Hell to stay the same, the volume of Hell has to expand proportionately as souls are added.

This gives two possibilities: 1. If Hell is expanding at a slower rate than the rate at which souls enter Hell, then the temperature and pressure in Hell will increase until all Hell breaks loose.

2. If Hell is expanding at a rate faster than the increase of souls in Hell, then the temperature and pressure will drop until Hell freezes over.

So which is it? If we accept the postulate given to me by Teresa during my Freshman year that, "It will be a cold day in Hell before I sleep with you," and take into account the fact that I slept with her last night, then number two must be true, and thus I am sure that Hell is exothermic and has already frozen over.

The corollary of this theory is that since Hell has frozen over, it follows that it is not accepting any more souls and is therefore, extinct..... leaving only Heaven, thereby proving the existence of a divine being which explains why, last night, Teresa kept shouting "Oh my God."

*THIS STUDENT RECEIVED THE ONLY "A"*

I miss studying science like this.

Breathless

seems like everyone else has a love just for them
i don't mind, we have such a good time,
my best friend. but sometimes, well,
i wish we could be more than friends.
tell me do you know?
tell me do you know?
oh..

i get so breathless when you call my name.
i've often wondered, do you feel the same?
there's a chemistry, energy, a synchronicity
when we're all alone.
so don't tell me
you can't see
what i'm thinking of.

i can understand that you don't want to cross the line.
and you know i can't promise you things
will turn out fine.
but i have to be honest i want you to be mine.
tell me do you know?
tell me do you know?
oh..

i get so breathless when you call my name.
i've often wondered, do you feel the same?
there's a chemistry, energy, a synchronicity
when we're all alone.
so don't tell me
you can't see.
oh..

cause i've tried to do this right in your own time.
i've been telling you with my eyes, my heart's on fire.
why don't you realise?
tell me do you know?
tell me do you know?
i get so breathless..

I get so breathless when you call my name.
i've often wondered, do you feel the same?
there's a chemistry, energy, a synchronicity
when we're all alone.
so don't tell me
you can't see.
what i'm thinking of..

Birthday bash in advance

I celebrated my birthday in advance on Saturday due to people having church on Sunday and also because Chandni and gang were planning to catch Rojak! on Saturday. Anaz, Francine, Calvin and I bertolak-ed from my place after 'lunch' and drove to Hartamas.

Because I had birthday immunity, they had to let me listen to my new Corrine Bailey Rae album. I put ' Put your records on ' on repeat, much to their agony. After we got there, we met up with Kareen and then headed to Paddington's House of Pancakes because i was craving for some ice cream, but then i decided to have their seafood cream pie instead. You know i can't pass up seafood!

anaz and kar at paddington's

After Paddington's, we met up with Chien Yih, and then strolled around the Hartamas mall. The mall was a dissapointing place, what with being so dead and hardly any good shopping places. And because the sole reason we were in Hartamas was because of the shopping, we went off hunting for more shops, so we squeeze back into Calvin's car (which, by the way, has no right mirror) and go hunt down Blook somewhere nearby in Hartamas. Once we walk into Blook, leaving the guys sitting outside on the steps, we get to work. Loads of tops and skirts later, I splash some of my bday dosh on a dress and tank. very the puas.

Shopping is hard work, so we reward ourselves with coffee bean. While we're there, we try to figure out where in the world Cat's Whiskers is. Phone calls to Anaz's cousin, Beth didn't help very much as we finally give up and go makan at Aoyama.

kar, anaz, me, fran, krys

Dinner was fabulous with japanese food served by the restaurant according to the budget, and there was loads of camwhoring going on. Krys and Yuan came and there was a lot of talking, shouting (on my part, sorry) and best of all laughing. It was so great to meet up with old friends and go all crazy just like old times.

It was still raining very heavily when we left the restaurant, so it was dashing through the streets and lanes to the car park, and we decided to ditch the umbrella and walk through the rain. It was crazy. Anaz and I were practically falling over each other laughing like crazy drunkards, and i'm pretty sure the chefs of the outside restaurants we passed thought we were drunk AND high.

The mood in the car was hilarious. We had split into two groups, and Anaz, Fran, Me piled into Cal's car, while the rest waited for their car. Today's environment must really be polluted because there was definitely something in the rain that got to us, what with all the singing (out of tune) and arguing over control of the remote control for the sound system. Craziness.

When we get to KLPAC, it's still raining pretty heavily. I meet up with Jay, and then we mill around waiting for the play to start. The toilets are still like i remember it when i went to watch Julius Ceasar. The sinks are still uber cool. so avant garde and modern.

The play was hilarious. It was really a compilation of short monologues that were mostly humourous and satirical. One really freaked me out though, although my bimbo brain couldn't totally comprehend the full meaning of it. It had a lot of screaming and was very dark. It was about a mom and her son (who by the way had really cool eye make up) and there were two 'angels' and a 'teacher' and the mom was a bit the.. insane. erm. yeah.

By the end of the play you can pretty much figure out that the teacher was God, and the book was the Book of Life, and the two freaky ass angels were..angels. I didn't understand fully what they were trying to get at, but if the point of art is to illicit a reaction from the audience no matter how extreme, they suceeded. The play terrified the shit out of me, especially the part where the angel 'killed' the mom by wrapping the trash bag over the head. It shocked, scared and stunned me as well as confused me. The lighting effects and significance of the props and the fact that you KNOW all this is a metaphor for something deeper and darker beyond my comprehension was very overwhelming. By the time the lights went up for intermission, I was shell shocked and tearing. I couldn't help it!

During intermission, the girls went to the loo, then they wanted to chill at the cafe. When people started going back into the pentas, I want to go back inside, but everybody's like no no, still got time, chill la. Finally i get why they didn't want to go back in when a waiter comes to our table with a plate of tiramisu and ice cream. Kareen had told Yuan that I wanted ice cream earlier, so yay, i got my ice cream after all. Then they sang Happy Birthday, but what was extra ber-malufying was that there were some sort of Tamil new year thing going on next to the cafe, so the Indian people joined in. I think. I don't know. I covered my face with a plastic bag, but I think I could hear them...

you guys.. the play is starting la..

Finally we went back in LATE which was a bit embarassing cause i think we held up the starting of the next play, but. yeah. oops. The rest of the play was entertaining, and I really enjoyed it. By the time we get out and head to the park to cam whore, we're pretty pooped out. But cam hoing must be done. will post a link to the photos one of these days...

All in all I had the greatest Birthday ever. So suitable for my 18th bash yeah?

Special thanks goes out to Kar for organizing and calling everybody, Cal for driving, Yuan for getting me cake and ice cream, Yih for the tickets, Anaz and Fran for eating my tau foo pok. and Krys for letting me and fran play with her new camera. and to EVERYBODY for coming. i love you alll so berbanyak fied much.

special note to kitten and nash : hey i totally don't know you, but thanks so much for leaving a comment! nice to know people acutally read this crap. :D

Rain can actually be quite romantic. Not just the soft drafty wafty drizzle. There's something passionate and time stopping about the heavy downpours that makes you stop and look at the fields being drenched in rain and everybody huddling together

If only you were enjoying it with me.

Vono should pay me..

Creamy creamy mushroom soup that smells like horlicks

Because their soup is so good. For instant soup category that it. I just finished eating one sachet of its Mushroom Soup and it's a million times better than the crappy soupy snax or whatever it's called. Vono should sponsor me, and I will go around promoting their soup for them. I will go around campus flinging sachets at starving students who are sick of mamak food, and maybe fling boiling hot water at them too. Because you need the hot water to mix into the powder. hehehe.

If Vono won't sponsor, then I will promote Knorr. Knorr is a favourite with me because i used to consume their chicken stock cubes by the boxes back in the days when i had to cook my own lunch, and the only soup for noodles i knew how to make was the one where you crushed the chicken cubes and mixed the powder in. Knorr makes the only chicken noodle soup i eat/drink because..well.. because no other company makes them.

But the best kind is from Campbell. Campbell isn't really in the category of instant soup, cause you actually have to cook it, unless you count their new add hot water with the powdered soup kind. Mushroom, Potage, Cream of Chicken, Tomato, Oxtail, Vegetable, Minestrom, alphabet soup, Chicken noodle, you name it, campbell makes me love it. YUuuummm..

The strange thing about Vono is that after drinking it.. makes me hungry la..

three girls and 40+ guys

Lee made me and Kareen layan her by making us go all the way to KLCC to watch CLEO's 50 most eligible bachelors. We might have complained and whined initially, but in the end, we passed up watching Gubra and watched the parade of hotness for a few hours.

see what happens when you let Lee play with the camera

everybody knows that when you watch a parade show at a mall, you should try to get the best 'seats' in the house. Unless you're the press and get prime access to the fancy shmancy chairs, you'll have to jostle your way to the balcony. So Kareen and I were excercising our talent in nudging people so we could get prime standing place on the 1t floor balcony. Finally the man in front of me graciously gives me his place, and so Kareen and I get good leaning space. Then Lee who has no talent in getting space takes advantage and happily sits down near our legs. So she gets to sit, prime viewing space with no effort whatsoever, and she gets to play with my camera. eesh

Neo was one of the cutest, and number seven, and Asun really got the crowd cheering, and Jeremy T was Cute! Lee kept whining about taking pictures with Rashid Salleh, so after we returned from the park, we went and hunted him down. I can't load the photos now because blogger is acting up, but yeah, he reminds me of Chef Wan.. physically..

In the end, we didn't watch Gubra because Kareen didn't want to spend 10 bucks on a local movie, and Lee wanted to watch Adam and Neo and Asun. So majority wins. Anyhoo, I've decided that I can't wait to watch Gubra. I HAVE to see it this week. I cannot stand not knowing if ah loong died or not. If he did then who was talking to the girl when she called?? Ghost is it???!!!
